Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation

The Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation aims to train physiotherapists who are familiar with the physical therapy process, who know and can use the necessary materials and equipment used in physiotherapy and who can prepare and apply for a specific exercise program.

Students of the İKU Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation undergraduate program gain competence beyond their own disciplines with the teaching method and content developed within the scope of the multifaceted education approach.

Physiotherapists are health professionals who determine the functional limitations, pain and disabilities caused by congenital or acquired diseases, disorders or injuries by special measurement and evaluation methods, who plan and implement physiotherapy and rehabilitation programs for the development of the functional capacity of patients diagnosed by physicians and who maintain the wellbeing of healthy individuals.
 

Following their graduation, physiotherapists can work in the following places that provide preventive, therapeutic and rehabilitative services in Turkey and abroad:

  • Orthopedics, neurology, neurosurgery, rheumatology, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, chest diseases, thoracic surgery, pediatrics, geriatrics, orthotic-prosthetic units, burn centers, anesthesia-reanimation units, plastic and reconstructive surgery and physical therapy units,
  • Physical, visual and aural rehabilitation centers,
  • Sports and physical fitness centers,
  • Prosthesis-orthotic rehabilitation centers,
  • Industrial organizations,
  • Special education and rehabilitation centers,
  • Amateur and professional sports clubs,
  • Elderly care and rehabilitation centers,
  • Vocational rehabilitation centers,
  • Spa centers,
  • Home care service centers,
  • R&D laboratories,They can work as instructors in the related departments of universities and vocational schools.
